Today is the last day of the West Coast Women’s Show! Since it’s an overcast and rainy day, why not take a friend or your daughter with you to stroll around and shop? My daughter Chloe and I went yesterday, took a few photos and had a fun mama/daughter-day.
I worked at this Women’s Show a few years ago as a vendor, which is a completely different experience then going as a guest (more stressful). Compared to the year that I worked the show in 2010, there seemed to be fewer vendors. Of course, that could just be my very foggy memory. This time we went during the day and shopped the booths, sampled the food samples (maybe there were fewer than I recall) and watched a few of the stage shows. My daughter Chloe thought that it was just going to be ‘a bunch of old ladies’ but she actually had a good time! There was a lot to see and do.
My friend Andrea is a new representative of Monat, a natural-based hair care system just launching in Canada. Andrea is a great person and was very successful in another direct-sales company – so if Andrea is involved, I know Monat must be great!
My husband and Chloe both love horseradish, and it is often hard to find a good one with a ‘kick’. When I saw this Horseradish company, HeeHaw Horseradish, based in Victoria, I had to buy some (which we will be having tonight with roast beef!).
I even ran into an old-friend from my high school in Regina! I had heard or seen somewhere that she lived out here but I don’t think I have seen her in about 28 years, so it was a nice little blast-from-the-past. It put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. 🙂
If you are looking for something to do today, the West Coast Women’s Show is still on until 5:30 pm today October 18th. It’s Mother’s and Daughter’s Day, so grab your daughter and head on down to the Tradex in Abbotsford.
