For the past several years I have become more mindful of the amount of ‘stuff’ that we bring into our home. It’s a challenge because I have two teen daughters that love new clothes and ‘things’ but I am trying to teach them a little bit more about our throwaway society – and how much of the stuff that we don’t use ends up the landfill.
I’ve been working with Surrey company Bravo Apparel for the last few months and I was delighted when they suggested trying some clothing that is made with 100% water bottles/pop cans. This is a product that promotes recycling in the mainstream by into a desirable product. The apparel is antimicrobial, meaning it kills microorganisms or inhibits their growth.
The fabric itself is very lightweight and thin, so I choose a darker colour, black, so that we could incorporate these easily into our wardrobes. While we did not choose to put any branding on these shirts, Bravo Apparel in Surrey, does a variety of branded clothing types for both corporate and private individuals. They are a family-owned company and started the business in their basement, and now are located at 105 – 5433 152 Street Surrey, BC. I immediately connected with the owner when I met him, as he and his wife hardworking successful entrepreneurs and I have a lot of respect for people that take that path – especially with a young family home.
If you are needing branded corporate apparel, they have some great information on their website about how to choose quality uniforms and why custom uniforms are so important for branding a business. They have a wide variety of different types of apparel, with an extensive catalogue, offering a variety of printing and embroidery options.
These black t-shirts are thin and comfortable, perfect for layering or simply on their own with leggings. I hope to wear my black ones, although I feel like Chloe may have already snagged them both!
